Storytime

Once upon a time there was a girl.  She was normal, at least as normal as anyone can be.  Sure she had her share of childhood "traumas" but it didn't define her and she was fine.  She grew up and became an adult.  She met this friend who we'll call Depress.  Depress wasn't a very good friend.  He weighed heavy on this girl and she really disliked him.  But Depress was reliable.  Very reliable.  So reliable that she began to just let him be around.  Alot.  Depress moved on in and took root.  He was bad.  So bad.  He encouraged her to do things and be things that she just was not.  He changed her on the inside.  He almost changed her on the outside.  So she started to kick Depress out.  It took along time because frankly, Depress didn't want to leave.  He had alot of roots dug and lots of stuff to move out.  But after a few years and lots of help she kicked Depress out.  But occasionally, she would run into him.  He would just appear out of the blue either in a dream or maybe on Facebook.  Sometimes Depress would be so bold as to stop by and just barge in the house.  These time were especially hard because this girl could find herself getting back into that old bad routine.  She thought that once he had moved out...been kicked out, that he would never come back.  That the worst part of this "friend" Depress...He never really leaves fully, but the girl is learning that as soon as she sees him, she must fight.  Fight to keep him out.  Fight to keep him away.  Fight to keep the happy that he was always so insistent on keeping away from her.  Because the happy is way better.  Always a way better friend than Depress could ever be.
